This year has seen my obsession with pink lippies grow to astounding bounds, and one of my favorite finds has been MAC's Up The Amp. Every time I wear it I like to rap (mumble) and dance (flail) around pretending I am Nicki Minaj (true). Up The Amp comes in MAC's Cremesheen formula, which is one of my personal favorites. It promises and delivers rich, opaque color while moisturizing and staying strong for a long, long while. I have been hearing through the vine of grapes that there was a possible drugstore dupe. Revlon's Berry Haute? Well, let's see!

When swatched the two look very, very similar. Both shades have a vibrant pink with a hint of purple to them. The lighter the hand, the pinker the look. Go heavier and you get more purple.

On the lips is where we see a greater difference. Both have rich, vibrant color but Up The Amp definitely has more purple to it than Berry Haute, and has bluer undertones to it. Up The Amp also has a slightly more creamy formula, but Berry Haute has a more moisturizing feel and does not dry the lips. Up The Amp has the signature MAC scent while Berry Haute has absolutely NO smell to it, nor taste, whatsoever.
The two are not exact dupes, but they are pretty darn close. And if you purchase the Revlon lippie you get to save yourself about $8. My biggest complaint about the Revlon lippie is that the packing is mucho cheapo. It's just a flimsy plastic cap with a clear top that tends to pop off if it's just swimming around in your purse. Make sure you tuck it into a small cosmetics case. And don't be afeared of the color. While it does look more shocking on those while pale skin, it is a very wearable color on those with more tanned or cooler skintones.
Enjoy!
